Rams list Colby Parkinson questionable with ribs vs Commanders

Sean McVay tagged the tight end after he missed Wednesday and Thursday practice. He also sat last week against the Chargers, so Sunday availability is still unsettled.

  • Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson is questionable for Sunday's game at the Washington Commanders with a rib injury, coach Sean McVay said Friday. LA Times beat writer Gary Klein and AP's Greg Beacham both relayed the designation from McVay, and Rams.com's Stu Jackson listed Parkinson among the club's questionable players.

  • What is confirmed

Parkinson (ribs) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and carries a questionable tag for Week 9. He also missed last week's win over the Los Angeles Chargers with the same issue. Nate Atkins and Rams Wire confirmed the Friday designation alongside other Rams question marks on defense.

Questionable is not a clearance. After two midweek DNPs and a prior inactive, he sits on the wrong side of a streaming call until the inactive list posts.

    TE depth without him

Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen handled tight end snaps against the Chargers and combined for three catches and 22 yards on four targets, per RotoBaller. Neither seized the job. McVay also said Terrance Ferguson is expected to play Sunday after missing time with an ankle injury, which further crowds the position if Parkinson is active.

McDuffie (back) and Curl (foot) are also questionable. Those notes matter for the Rams' secondary more than the TE room, but they show a Friday report with several starters unsettled.

What RSO owners should do now

Do not auto-start Parkinson in standard 12-team formats. Prefer a healthier TE stream or leave the spot to a locked-in option until Sunday's inactives. If you already roster him in a deeper league, hold through the weekend rather than dropping on one more Q tag, but have a pivot ready.

  • Higbee remains the safer Rams TE play if you need a Los Angeles name and Parkinson sits again. Ferguson returning lowers the chance Parkinson dominates targets even if he is cleared.

    What to watch next

Sunday's inactive list before the Commanders kickoff. Klein, Beacham, and Rams channels usually settle the call then. A second straight inactive keeps Higbee/Allen/Ferguson in the mix. An active listing still warrants caution on volume after the rib layoff.
