What's confirmed
Jackson got hurt on his first play since Oct. 4. ESPN's Jamison Hensley wrote that his right hand collided with the arm of Bills outside linebacker Greg Rousseau. The Ravens ruled him out shortly after, and Adam Schefter, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo all relayed the same ruling. Jackson had missed the previous three games with a high ankle sprain, so this was supposed to be his return.
Huntley took over and fumbled on a blind-side hit, which gave Buffalo the ball at the Baltimore 20 with a 10-7 lead. The Ravens then listed him as questionable with a toe injury, and Fagnano, an undrafted rookie out of Connecticut, came in. Rapoport noted it was the first time any team has used its emergency third quarterback this season.
Garafolo explained that because Fagnano entered as the emergency quarterback, Huntley can't come back in, so the questionable tag describes his condition more than his chances of returning. Per the broadcast, running back Justice Hill is now the backup. Baltimore trailed 13-7 with 7:37 left in the second quarter.
What we don't know yet
There's no word on how serious either injury is. Nobody has said whether Jackson's thumb is a sprain, a fracture or something that needs surgery, and the same goes for Huntley's toe. Expect imaging and a clearer answer Monday.
What RSO owners should do now
Jackson owners can't do much today beyond swapping him out of any late lineups where your league allows it. Don't sell him for pennies on a thumb diagnosis that hasn't arrived yet. If you roster Huntley as handcuff insurance, he isn't the answer this week either.
