Jadarian Price practices fully as Charbonnet slips to limited

Seattle's Friday report moved Jadarian Price up to full participation while Zach Charbonnet was held to limited work with his knee. Both backs are still in play for Monday night against Chicago, and Saturday's report should settle the split.

  • The Seattle Seahawks' Friday injury report flipped the outlook in their backfield. Running back Jadarian Price (chest) moved up to full participation, while Zach Charbonnet (knee) was limited after four straight full practices, according to ESPN's Seahawks reporter and NFL.com's Around The NFL.

  • Seattle plays the Bears on Monday night, so Friday is not the final word. The team has one more practice report before it sets game designations.

    What's confirmed

Price was a full participant Friday. Seattle designated him to return from injured reserve earlier this week, and head coach Mike Macdonald said there was a realistic chance he plays this week. He still has to be activated to the 53-man roster before he can suit up.

Charbonnet was limited Friday with the knee. He had practiced fully in each of the four previous sessions. Wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee) did not practice again, and tackle Charles Cross (ankle) also sat out.

    What's still open

Rapoport said Tuesday that Charbonnet was expected to make his season debut Monday. Seattle hasn't said anything new about that plan, and one reporter at practice noted the team worked outside in the rain and held a few players back. Still, a step down from full to limited this late in the week is worth taking seriously, and it gives Price a clearer path to early-down work if Charbonnet is eased in.

Without Cross, Seattle's line is thinner on the left side, which matters for any back taking handoffs Monday.

  • What RSO owners should do now

If Price is still on your league's waiver wire, he is the add this weekend, especially in deeper leagues where a cheap contract with upside is worth a roster spot. Charbonnet owners should keep him in Monday lineup plans but hold a bench backup who plays Sunday, since you won't know his final status until after the Sunday slate starts.

If you roster both, there is no reason to cut either one yet.

    What to watch next

Saturday's Seattle report brings game designations and should show whether Charbonnet returns to full work. Watch for Price's activation off injured reserve before kickoff. Shaheed's status also matters for anyone starting a Seattle receiver.
