What's confirmed. Allen's upgrade comes straight from the Jets' official report, and Pro Football Talk logged the same change. Hall and guard Dylan Parham were limited both days this week. Edge rusher David Bailey missed his second straight practice with a groin injury.
What's still open. ESPN's Rich Cimini wrote that Hall has now been limited for four straight days and at one point left positional drills for the rehab area Thursday. Neither back has a game designation yet. Those come with Friday's final report.
Allen is the clear fantasy winner today. He ran 17 times for 104 yards in last Sunday's 28-25 loss to Miami with Hall inactive, and the ankle issue that limited him Wednesday no longer looks like a threat to his Week 8 workload. If Hall sits a third straight game, Allen should handle early downs and goal-line work again.
Hall is the harder call. He has missed the last two games with the quad, and practicing on a limited basis all week is progress. A player who walks off to the rehab area midweek is not a player you can count on for a full load, though. Even if he is active, a return on a split or capped snap count is the more realistic outcome than a straight return to his old role.
What RSO owners should do now. Start Allen this week in most formats. He carries a high floor if Hall sits and still has value in a split. Hall owners should line up a 4 PM or later backup so they can pivot once inactives post about 90 minutes before kickoff. Don't trade Hall at a discount off one rough practice week.
