Let your league chase Joe Milton's legs, because Jacoby Brissett is the quarterback to buy

Two quarterback moves hit your superflex league Wednesday, and most of your league-mates are going to spend their money on the wrong one. Joe Milton starts Sunday. Jacoby Brissett won't play until Nov. 16. Bid on Brissett anyway.
Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter have the Ravens finalizing a trade for him, expected to close this weekend. It won't be done in time for Thursday night in Jacksonville, so Schefter has his debut coming in Week 10 on Monday night against the Chargers. Look at what Baltimore's working with. Lamar Jackson has a thumb injury that needs surgery and could end his season, Tyler Huntley's done for the year with turf toe, and ESPN says the three quarterbacks active Thursday have combined for zero career starts and 23 pass attempts. The Ravens are 4-4, they've lost three straight, and they haven't topped 13 points in three straight games for the first time since 2005.
That's a team that's going to hand the ball to the new guy and let him throw. And throwing is what Brissett does. ESPN has him first in the league in dropbacks, attempts and completions over his last 20 starts, and fifth in passing yards. In superflex you're renting volume, and he's about to get it in an offense that's out of other options. He's also walking into a quarterbacks coach, Israel Woolfork, who coached him in Arizona last year and in Cleveland in 2022.
Yes, I see the 62 sacks over those 20 games, tied for the league lead. I see the 1-11 record last year and the 3-5 this year, and I see that Arizona yanked him late in the third quarter Sunday and dropped him behind a rookie. And if Jackson makes it back this season, Brissett's a backup again. All true. That doubt is the whole reason he's cheap right now. Once he's starting on a Monday night, nobody's selling him to you for a bench spot.
Now Milton. Schefter and Mike Garafolo have the Eagles benching Tanner McKee for him against the Giants. He'll be the fourth quarterback to throw a pass for a 2-6 team that's lost six straight. Jeremy Fowler says his mobility is part of the appeal for a team that can't run the ball, and I'll give you that his legs give him a floor. Here's the problem. On Monday, Nick Sirianni said "Tanner's our guy," per The Athletic. By Wednesday Tanner wasn't. That's the leash you're buying. And the Eagles are on bye in Week 10, which happens to be the week Brissett walks into Baltimore.
If you're desperate for a body Sunday, grab Milton for nothing and drop him the minute Philadelphia changes its mind again. Spend your real bid on Brissett, keep the contract short, and do it before the trade is official, because once it is, the guy who's been ignoring your messages all season is going to notice too.
