  • The Washington Commanders have ruled out wide receiver Treylon Burks for Sunday's Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Burks missed practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a foot injury, and the team's final game-status report tagged him out. Ian Rapoport, Jeremy Fowler and Underdog NFL all carried the same Friday designation.

  • What's confirmed. Burks is out for Week 9. The Commanders' official game-status post also ruled out Dyami Brown (calf), who was limited Thursday and did not practice Friday. Terry McLaurin remains on injured reserve with a torn patellar tendon, so Washington's active receiver room for Sunday is thin.

How we got here. Burks has been dealing with the foot issue since the 49ers game and never logged a practice rep this week. That closed any late-week return path. Brown's calf tweak midweek removed the other complementary wideout who had been available. The Commanders still list Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams as the receivers who have caught regular-season passes and are expected to play.

  • Who gets the work. Diggs remains the WR1 against the Rams. Williams should see every-down work after a busy target share last week. Tight end Chig Okonkwo and depth pieces such as Van Jefferson or Luke McCaffrey can absorb leftover snaps. Do not lean on Burks or Brown in any Week 9 lineup.

What RSO owners should do now. Sit Burks. If you need Washington pass-catcher exposure, Diggs is the primary play and Williams is the next dart. Burks is a hold only in deeper formats where the foot issue looks short term and you have bench space; a full-week DNP into an out tag is not a stash you start on hope.

What to watch next. Wednesday's Week 10 practice report for Burks' foot and Brown's calf. Full participation without a setback is the first green light. Also watch whether Washington elevates another receiver from the practice squad before kickoff Sunday.
