  • The New Orleans Saints activated rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. from injured reserve on Saturday and waived running back Kendre Miller, the team announced. Tyson, the eighth overall pick in the 2026 draft, is set to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

  • What's confirmed

The Saints' own roster post lists the full set of moves. Tyson and Banks were activated. Miller and tight end Treyton Welch were waived. Kicker Charlie Smyth and running back Zamir White were elevated from the practice squad for Sunday.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler had sources earlier Saturday saying both Tyson and Banks would be active against Cleveland. Both players had been listed as questionable on the final injury report.

    Tyson's long road back

Tyson hurt his right hamstring in an Aug. 13 joint practice against the Jaguars and was expected to miss at least two months. He returned to practice this week, which opened his 21-day window, and the Saints didn't need most of it. The team and Tyson have said the injury isn't connected to the hamstring trouble that cost him three games at Arizona State last year.

Tyson called the extra time "a blessing" and said it let him adjust to the NFL at his own pace.

    Why Miller is out

Miller, a 2023 third-round pick from TCU, led the Saints in rushing with 159 yards this season. That says more about the run game than about him. New Orleans ran for 18 yards in its last game before the bye. The Saints also claimed running back Audric Estime off waivers from the Browns, per ESPN, and Miller's roster spot went to Tyson.

  • What RSO owners should do now

If Tyson is on your bench or IR slot, move him into an active spot only if your league locks lineups late and you have the depth. A first game back from a long hamstring absence usually comes with a managed snap count, so keep Week 9 expectations modest. His rookie contract value hasn't changed.

Miller is a free agent now. If you roster him in RSO, you can cut him to free the spot unless another team claims him this week.

    What to watch next

Watch Tyson's snap share against Cleveland and whether he plays outside or in the slot. In the backfield, watch how the carries split among Estime, White and the rest of the room. A clear lead back there would be worth a cheap waiver bid.
