Ravens put Jackson and Huntley on IR as Fagnano starts on TNF

Baltimore formalizes its TNF quarterback room with Austin Reed as the backup. Jacksonville still lists Bhayshul Tuten as questionable after a late optimistic update.

  • The Baltimore Ravens placed quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve Thursday and signed Austin Reed to the 53-man roster, with Joe Fagnano set to start tonight against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The club also elevated outside linebacker Adisa Isaac and kicker Jake Moody from the practice squad. Kickoff is 8:15 PM ET on Prime Video at M&T Bank Stadium.

  • Baltimore's quarterback plan

Adam Schefter and Tom Pelissero confirmed the IR moves Thursday afternoon. Ian Rapoport said Reed will be the backup tonight. Fagnano stays under center after Schefter named him the starter Wednesday, when Huntley's turf toe was ruled season-ending. Kedon Slovis remains on the roster behind them.

Jacoby Brissett is still headed to Baltimore, but not for this game. Rapoport said Thursday the trade is being finalized and Brissett should join after tonight. Schefter has said Brissett's expected debut is Week 10 on Monday Night Football against the Chargers.

Derrick Henry still drives the offense. He has 632 yards and eight touchdowns on 158 carries, per ESPN. Zay Flowers leads the team with 40 catches for 608 yards and three scores.

    Jacksonville's side

Bhayshul Tuten remains questionable with an ankle and foot injury on ESPN's game list. Jeremy Fowler wrote Thursday that Tuten "should be" good for TNF barring any pregame setbacks. Travon Walker is also questionable (ribs). The Jaguars elevated safety Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig from the practice squad for tonight.

Trevor Lawrence enters with 1,690 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions. Tuten has 492 rush yards and three touchdowns on 110 carries when healthy. Jacksonville is 5-2 and favored by 10 with a total of 39.5, per DraftKings on ESPN. Baltimore is 4-4. Nate Wiggins is questionable for Baltimore with an illness, and safety Jaylinn Hawkins is out.

  • What RSO owners should do now

Lock Thursday lineups tonight. Start Henry. Treat Flowers and the Baltimore pass catchers as lower-floor plays behind a first-time starter. Reed and Slovis are not streaming options here.

Tuten is still a game-time call even with Fowler's optimistic note. If you start him, keep a Sunday or Monday replacement ready and check inactives about 90 minutes before kickoff. Walker managers should do the same. Hold Jackson in dynasty. Brissett is a short-term bridge once the trade clears, not a long-term contract target.

    What to watch next

Watch Thursday's inactives for Tuten, Walker and Wiggins, how many carries Henry gets with Fagnano under center, and the official completion of the Brissett trade after the game.
