Panthers top Eagles as Nabers and Hubbard lead Week 6's early games

Chuba Hubbard ran for 120 yards and Tommy Tremble scored twice as Carolina won 25-14 in Philadelphia, while Malik Nabers had 165 yards in a Giants loss. Shoulder injuries to Romeo Doubs and Rashod Bateman and a Giants quarterback change give RSO owners decisions to make this week.

    Quarterbacks

Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdowns on 306 yards in the morning game but lost to C.J. Stroud, who went 24 of 34 for 312 yards and three scores. Caleb Williams was efficient at Atlanta, 30 of 36 for 305 yards and a touchdown. Drake Maye threw three touchdowns with no picks, and Michael Penix Jr. matched that with three of his own. Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and two scores in the upset.

Several backups struggled. Tanner McKee managed 215 yards on 45 attempts with Jalen Hurts out. Jalon Daniels threw for 164 yards and two interceptions in place of Baker Mayfield, and Tyler Huntley had 165 yards for Baltimore with Lamar Jackson sidelined. Cam Ward threw for 102 yards on 22 attempts, and Daniel Jones threw two interceptions in the loss to Tennessee.

    Running backs

Hubbard carried 28 times for 120 yards and a score. D'Andre Swift scored twice on 16 carries, and Roschon Johnson added 51 yards and a touchdown with Kyle Monangai out. Jonathan Taylor ran for 94 yards and a score, and Braelon Allen had 78 yards on 17 carries with Breece Hall out.

Some lead backs had quiet days. Bijan Robinson got only nine carries for 61 yards. Derrick Henry ran 17 times for 58 yards, and Bucky Irving needed 19 carries to reach 46. In New England, Corey Kiner led the backfield with 57 yards, ahead of Rhamondre Stevenson (36) and TreVeyon Henderson (31). In New Orleans, Kendre Miller took 20 carries to Alvin Kamara's seven.

    Receivers and tight ends

Nabers caught 12 of 15 targets for 165 yards. Luther Burden III caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards, and DK Metcalf and rookie Germie Bernard each caught 11 passes for Pittsburgh, with Bernard scoring. Jaylin Noel had 107 yards and a touchdown on four catches, and Omar Cooper Jr. had 103 yards and a score for the Jets.

  • At tight end, Kyle Pitts scored twice, Tremble scored twice, and Isaiah Likely had 99 yards and a touchdown. Colston Loveland and Hunter Henry also found the end zone.

Among the duds, A.J. Brown caught three of 10 targets for 27 yards in his return from IR. Calvin Ridley and Brian Thomas Jr. were each shut out on two targets, and Mark Andrews caught one pass for four yards.

    What changed for RSO owners

Romeo Doubs was ruled out with a shoulder injury after his 42-yard touchdown, and Rashod Bateman was ruled out at Cleveland with a shoulder injury. The Giants pulled Winston for J.J. McCarthy, who threw for 243 yards, and the team won't name a Week 7 starter. Philadelphia ruled out Carson Steele with a shoulder injury, which leaves the Eagles backfield thin with Saquon Barkley already out. Tyler Warren sat with a groin injury.

Bernard, Noel, Cooper and Tremble are the waiver adds worth a bid this week, and Kiner and Miller are worth stashing as their roles grow. Hold Brown, who still drew 10 targets in his first game back, and keep starting Robinson.
