  • Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Sunday that Lamar Jackson needs surgery on his right thumb and will go on injured reserve, an injury he called potentially season-ending. Overnight, Saquon Barkley said the Eagles assured him he won't be traded, per ESPN's Tim McManus.

  • Confirmed Sunday

Jackson got hurt in Baltimore's 36-10 loss at Buffalo. Backup Tyler Huntley also left with a toe injury, so the Ravens could turn to an undrafted rookie Thursday against Jacksonville.

The Colts benched Daniel Jones for Anthony Richardson early in the fourth quarter of a 42-7 loss to the Jaguars, after Jones threw his second interception. Indianapolis has not named next week's starter.

Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said holding Ashton Jeanty to two carries in the 38-33 win over the Jets was his call. Mike Washington Jr. carried 25 times.

Arizona's Michael Wilson said he has two broken ribs after catching the tying touchdown in a 33-30 overtime win at Dallas. The Cardinals lost Kendrick Bourne (ankle) and Bam Knight (concussion), and Dallas lost Jake Ferguson to an ankle injury. Hunter Henry left New England's 24-19 win at Miami with a foot injury.

Joe Burrow threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns as Cincinnati beat Tennessee 43-36 in overtime. Denver beat Kansas City 28-24 to take the AFC West lead, and Washington handed Philadelphia a sixth straight loss, 27-10, on Sunday night.

  • Overnight

Barkley played on a snap count Sunday and finished with 30 rushing yards and a touchdown. After the game he said the front office told him he will stay past the trade deadline.

Josh Jacobs' attorneys called the newly released allegations against him "unsupported and stale" in a Sunday statement, per ESPN. The NFL review of those allegations remains open.

Denver reporter Zac Stevens says Jonathan Taylor is the Broncos' "1A plan," via Underdog. That follows Friday's news that the Colts are open to trading Taylor and Denver checked in. Nothing is agreed.

What RSO owners should do now

Jackson owners need a long-term answer at quarterback. Barkley owners can take him off the trade watch list. Jones and Richardson owners should wait for Indianapolis to name a starter before moving either one. Hold Jeanty, since one game does not settle the backfield, but keep checking his snap share.

    What to watch next

Watch for Baltimore's quarterback plan for Thursday, the Colts' starter decision, Wilson's practice status, and any movement on Taylor before the deadline. Chicago plays at Seattle tonight without Kyle Monangai.
