Zach Sieler wants to remain with the Miami Dolphins as the November 10 trade deadline approaches. The defensive lineman said Monday that he has been concentrating on playing for Miami, rather than on speculation about where he might finish the season.
"I love it here," Sieler said in the Dolphins' published transcript. "I want to win here as a Dolphin."
Sieler did not announce a trade offer or agreement. The team's transcript does not identify a decision about his future. NBC Sports reported Tuesday on his remarks as Miami continues a rebuild under coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan.
Sieler also used the media session to explain the work behind Miami's defensive-line rotation. He welcomed Kenneth Grant's return and described the challenge of getting young players to run coordinated pass-rush games with the same timing and assignments.
Those movements require more than two rushers exchanging lanes. Sieler said the players on the opposite side must also stay disciplined, because a poorly coordinated rush can leave a gap for the quarterback to escape. Miami has been working on those calls and repetitions in practice, including late in sessions when players are tired.
The Dolphins are coming off their bye and preparing for the Jets. Sieler's stated focus is on helping that group improve and win in Miami. Whether the front office receives or accepts a trade proposal remains a separate question; no completed move was announced with his comments.
