The New York Giants released wide receiver Darius Slayton on Monday, September 7, 2026.
ESPN's Monday NFL transactions list the move as a release. ESPN's Jordan Raanan first reported the cut, noting Slayton was the longest-tenured player on the roster, had slipped near the bottom of the depth chart, and was set to make $13 million this season.
Slayton had made the club's initial 53-man roster for 2026. The Giants open at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, September 13.
Cap accounting (dead money vs. savings) waits on an official club or Spotrac/OTC filing. This page tracks the roster move that already filed.
