Love returns to limited Seahawks practice; Okada remains sidelined

Julian Love returned to limited practice Wednesday after missing Seattle's Week 3 game with a calf injury. Ty Okada remained out of practice with a hamstring injury. • Julian Love returned to limited practice Wednesday after missing Seattle's Week 3 game with a calf injury. Ty Okada remained out of practice with a hamstring injury. The Seahawks' current Week 4 report separates their situations as Seattle prepares to host the Chargers on Sunday. Neither player has received a final designation for that game.

  • Coach Mike Macdonald said Love would be back on the field in some capacity, and the subsequent report listed him as limited. Okada, who has not played in the first three games, was a non-participant. Love's return is a practice step; Seattle has not announced that he will play Sunday or set a snap limit.

Nick Emmanwori was a full participant with an ankle injury Wednesday. That gives Seattle another positive entry in its safety report, while the club continues to assess Love and Okada. The report also lists Ty Okada's status only for Wednesday, so his absence should not be turned into a new game-day ruling.

Seattle has a separate decision ahead on running back Zach Charbonnet. Macdonald said there was a chance his practice window could open Thursday, but it had not opened Wednesday. The club says Charbonnet must miss one more game before returning from the physically unable to perform list. That possible practice return does not make him available against the Chargers.

For RSO leagues with individual defensive players, Love's progress warrants watching the remaining practice reports and Friday's designation. The previous report ruling both safeties out applied to Washington in Week 3; it does not settle this Sunday's lineup.
