  • The Seattle Seahawks activated running back Zach Charbonnet from the physically unable to perform list on Thursday, the team announced. In the corresponding move, Seattle placed tight end Elijah Arroyo on injured reserve, and ESPN's Adam Schefter said Arroyo is having shoulder surgery Thursday that ends his season.

  • What is confirmed

Charbonnet is on the 53-man roster after missing the first six games while he worked back from February ACL surgery. He returned to practice Oct. 1, was limited on every injury report after that, and was a full participant for the first time on Wednesday.

Arroyo's move to injured reserve is official. He hurt the shoulder in Seattle's overtime loss at Denver on Oct. 15.

    What comes from sources

The season-ending surgery comes from Schefter's sources, and the team has not put a timeline on it. For Charbonnet, nobody has said whether he plays Sunday night against Kansas City. Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday there was a possibility he could play in some capacity and that Charbonnet would get a full week of reps.

Why it matters for RSO owners

Charbonnet was a co-starter last season, running for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns. Getting back on the field before November keeps his contract value intact, and the activation removes the biggest question about his 2026 season. Expect a limited workload at first, since he is coming off a long layoff.

Arroyo's news closes the book on his year. Owners were already planning around an IR stint, but four weeks became the rest of the season.

  • What to do now

Charbonnet owners should pull him out of any IR or PUP slot and keep him on the bench for Week 7 unless the team says he has no limits. If he sits on a waiver wire in your league, claim him now. For Arroyo, move him to IR if your league allows it, and cut him only if you need the roster spot and his contract carries little dead money.
