Jackson hurt the ankle against Tennessee and did not practice at all this week, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley. Earlier in the week Minter had said Jackson could play without a full week of work, so Friday's call is a real change from where things stood on Wednesday.
Tyler Huntley will start in Atlanta, per Hensley. The Ravens also ruled out pass rusher Trey Hendrickson for the game.
What is confirmed
The team has ruled Jackson out for Week 5. Huntley is the expected starter. Minter did not put a timeline on Jackson beyond this game in the reports we have seen, so treat his status for Week 6 as open until the Ravens say more.
What it means for RSO rosters
For Jackson owners, this is a zero for Week 5. If your lineup locks at kickoff of each game, you have until Sunday night, but there is no reason to wait. Move him to the bench now and start the best quarterback you have. In leagues with deep benches or two quarterback formats, check the waiver wire for any healthy starter with a decent matchup.
Huntley is a short-term pickup at most. He fits superflex and two quarterback leagues where any starting quarterback has value for a week. In standard one quarterback leagues, he is not worth a roster spot over a bench player you expect to keep.
