The bigger fantasy question is in the backfield. Running back Ashton Jeanty did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable with an ankle and foot injury. Kubiak said Jeanty will travel with the team and is "going to do his best to go." He did not say whether the foot injury is new.
Nailor's absence is easier to absorb for fantasy purposes. He has five catches on 11 targets for 52 yards through four games, per ESPN's game logs, and had no catches in Week 4 against Kansas City. With Nailor and Thornton both out, Cody White and rookie Malik Benson could start at receiver, per the Raiders' team site reporter Levi Edwards.
Jeanty is a different story. He has 78 carries for 264 yards and 19 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns this season, per ESPN. The rushing efficiency has been modest at 3.4 yards per carry, but the volume has been steady, with at least 15 carries in every game. If he cannot go, rookie Mike Washington Jr. is the next back up. Washington has the Raiders' only rushing touchdown this season.
The matchup has a wrinkle on the other side, too. New England ruled out four cornerbacks, including starters Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III, so whichever Raiders receivers suit up face a thin secondary.
What RSO owners should do now: Nailor owners can leave him on the bench and hold. A concussion can clear in a week, and his role was small before the injury. Jeanty owners should line up a fallback before Sunday's 1 PM ET kickoff, since inactive lists come out about 90 minutes before kickoff. If Washington is on the waiver wire, he is the add to make. White and Benson are deep-league plays at best.
