AJ Brown questionable as Patriots leave activation decision for Saturday

A.J. Brown is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the NFL's Friday injury update. The Patriots have not announced his activation from injured reserve.

Coach Mike Vrabel said Friday the team would make its decision on Brown on Saturday, the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed reported. Brown practiced this week after New England opened his 21-day return window Wednesday.

Vrabel said he was watching Brown's conditioning and how he felt after Friday's session. The Patriots posted the coach's injury update Friday.

Earlier reporting: October 14

Brown’s return window opened Wednesday after an ankle injury in the season-opening loss to Seattle kept him out of the next four games. He caught three passes for 26 yards before leaving the opener. New England placed him on injured reserve while signing defensive tackle DaQuan Jones.

Vrabel’s Wednesday update also included planned practice work for Christian Gonzalez and the opening of tackle Marcus Bryant’s return window. At that point, the team had not settled Brown’s game availability.
