  • DeMarvion Overshown will not play Sunday night at Green Bay. The Cowboys ruled the linebacker out Saturday and said he would not travel with the team because of his hamstring injury, according to the club’s October 17 update.

The decision closes the question left open by Friday’s questionable designation. Cornerback Cobie Durant had already been ruled out, while Joey Porter Jr. remained questionable on the final report. Dallas also announced defensive-back elevations for Derion Kendrick and Juanyeh Thomas.

DeMarvion Overshown is officially questionable for Sunday night's game at Green Bay. The NFL's Friday injury report lists the linebacker with a hamstring injury, while cornerback Cobie Durant is out with a hamstring injury.

Brian Schottenheimer said earlier Friday that both players were long shots to play, ESPN's Todd Archer reported. The final designations settle Durant's availability and leave Overshown's undecided.

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is also questionable after limited participation Friday, Archer reported in his afternoon update. Dallas also listed defensive tackle LT Overton and cornerback Ameer Speed as questionable, and ruled tackle Drew Shelton out.

DeMarvion Overshown and Cobie Durant are long shots to play against Green Bay on Sunday, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Friday, ESPN's Todd Archer reported. Both are dealing with hamstring injuries.

  • Overshown returned to limited work Thursday after not practicing Wednesday. Durant did not participate on either day, according to the official matchup injury report.

The NFL's Friday update also reported Schottenheimer's assessment of Overshown.

DeMarvion Overshown remains a long shot to play Thursday against Tampa Bay, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday. The linebacker was again listed as a non-participant with a hamstring injury, and Dallas reported no changes in its players' participation levels from Monday's walkthrough to Tuesday's light practice.

Tyler Smith remained limited as he works toward a potential season debut. Dallas opened the All-Pro guard's 21-day practice window Monday following the thumb injury that required surgery before the regular season. His return to practice gives the Cowboys an opportunity to evaluate him on a short week, but Tuesday's report did not establish that he will play.

Tampa Bay’s official Tuesday report listed Josiah Trotter as a full participant. An earlier version of this article used the Cowboys’ matchup report, which listed him as a non-participant.

  • Cornerback Cobie Durant and offensive tackle Drew Shelton also remained non-participants with hamstring injuries. Dallas has another practice-report day before Thursday's game. Overshown's outlook is the clearest public warning so far, while the final game-status decisions remain ahead.

Several other players carried injuries on the report while participating fully Tuesday. That group included CeeDee Lamb with a thigh injury, Joey Porter Jr. with an ankle injury, Malik Hooker with a forearm injury and James Houston with a shoulder injury. Alijah Clark and Tyler Goodson were also full participants, both listed with ankle injuries.

The report therefore presents different availability questions across the roster. Smith is taking limited practice work in his return window, while Overshown, Durant and Shelton remain outside team participation. A full practice listing for the other players describes their Tuesday workload; it does not replace the final injury designation or the game-day inactive list.

Tampa Bay's Tuesday injury report lists linebacker Josiah Trotter as a full participant with a knee injury, up from limited participation Monday. The Buccaneers' other Tuesday non-participants included quarterback Baker Mayfield, safety Antoine Winfield Jr., cornerback Benjamin Morrison and linebacker SirVocea Dennis.

Update: Tampa Bay's official Tuesday report lists Josiah Trotter as a full participant. An earlier version used the Cowboys' matchup report, which listed him as a non-participant.

Dallas hosts Tampa Bay at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, October 8, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. Eastern on Prime Video. The Cowboys enter at 2-2 after Sunday's 34-30 win at Houston. Wednesday's report will provide the next scheduled update on who can help them through the quick turnaround.
