Lamar Jackson misses a second Ravens practice with his ankle injury

Baltimore's quarterback is officially out of Thursday's session after sitting Wednesday. With two missed practices this week, Tyler Huntley is the more likely Week 6 starter.

  • Lamar Jackson did not practice again Thursday as he works back from the left ankle injury he suffered Oct. 4 against the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed after the Ravens posted their injury report. Underdog NFL and Pro Football Talk matched the official designation.

  • What is confirmed

Jackson has now missed Wednesday and Thursday of the Week 6 practice week. Schefter relayed that he officially did not practice again Thursday, and Underdog NFL carried the same ankle listing. Pro Football Talk's Myles Simmons, citing multiple reporters on site, wrote that Jackson remains out of practice for Week 6 and that Tyler Huntley is more likely to start again after Jackson missed the first two days of the week.

Jackson left the Oct. 4 win over Tennessee late in the first half and was ruled out for Week 5 at Atlanta, when Huntley started and Baltimore won in overtime. The ankle is the same injury, not a new one.

The Ravens' Thursday report also listed receiver Rashod Bateman (shoulder), guard John Simpson, tight end Matt Hibner, and defensive lineman Broderick Washington as non-participants, per Pro Football Talk.

    What is still open

Missing two practices does not by itself rule Jackson out for Sunday. Pro Football Talk noted that head coach Jesse Minter has said Jackson could still start even if he does not practice this week. Friday's practice and the final injury report will settle the call. Until then, treat Huntley as the practical Week 6 plan on RSO benches and waiver wires.

There is no public IR move, and no new imaging details have been released with Thursday's report.

  • What RSO owners should do now

If you are counting on Jackson this week, have Huntley or another streamer ready before Friday's report. Huntley already showed he can win a start in this offense, and Baltimore's skill players stay in lineups even if the quarterback changes.

Jackson is a hold, not a drop. An ankle that kept him out for Week 5 and two midweek sessions is still week-to-week, and a return next week remains possible if Friday or next Wednesday shows progress.

    What to watch next

Friday's Ravens practice participation and the final Week 6 injury report. A third straight miss would make a Huntley start the base case. Any limited or full work from Jackson on Friday would reopen the door for Sunday.
