Kendall played in 38% of Buffalo’s defensive snaps in the overtime victory, according to the Bills’ Tuesday report. It was his first appearance for the team this season after joining Buffalo in August.
His release does not guarantee a return to the practice squad. Kendall must clear waivers before Buffalo could re-sign him there, the team said.
Danna originally signed with the Bills in May and has appeared in one game this season. The team credited him with a quarterback hit against Detroit. He returns to the active roster one day after being released.
The sequence reflects Buffalo’s management of the active roster around Monday’s matchup. Kendall’s game work is complete, while Danna is back in the outside-linebacker group. Tuesday’s announcement did not specify a new snap allocation for Danna or confirm that Kendall had cleared waivers.
