Bills list DJ Moore inactive at Las Vegas with his shoulder injury

Buffalo's receiver misses a second straight game with the same shoulder that has bothered him since Week 4. The Bills have a bye next week, which buys him close to two more weeks of rest.

  • DJ Moore is inactive for the Bills on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Las Vegas, his second straight missed game with a shoulder injury. Adam Schefter posted the news about 90 minutes before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, and Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network confirmed it separately.

  • What is confirmed

Moore will not play in Week 6. Schefter added that receiver Joshua Palmer is active, and Garafolo listed defensive tackle Ed Oliver among the Bills inactives again. RotoWire also logged Moore as out for the second week in a row.

This is the same shoulder that flared up in the Week 4 game against New England. Moore sat out Monday night's game at the Rams, then missed practice Wednesday and Thursday this week while the team stayed in California between its two West Coast games.

    What is still open

Buffalo has not put a timeline on the injury or talked about an injured reserve move. The schedule helps here. The Bills are off in Week 7, so Moore gets close to two more weeks of rest before Buffalo plays again.

What RSO owners should do now

Keep Moore out of any Week 6 lineup decisions that are still open, since the late games have not started. Do not cut him, and do not sell low. One more missed game followed by a bye is a short-term hit, and his RSO contract value rests on what he gives you in the second half of the season.

If you need a receiver this week, Palmer is the Buffalo name with a path to more targets on Sunday, but he is playing through a shoulder issue of his own and was limited in practice. Treat him as a short-term fill-in, not a long-term add.

  • Owners shopping for receiver depth can test a Moore manager now. A two-game absence plus a bye can make a contender willing to take a discount, and that window likely closes once he practices again.

    What to watch next

Watch the Bills' first injury report after the bye. Full participation would point to Moore returning for Week 8. Another missed practice, or any talk of a procedure, would change the outlook and make a deeper look at his contract timeline worthwhile.
